Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has already set a date with rival club Barça for the next El Clasico, which will see the two teams face off.

After the first leg ended in a heavy 4-0 defeat at home to Real Madrid on October 26, 2024, the Italian is already looking for revenge.

The former Bayern Munich coach has his eye on the El Clasico match his team will play against the Catalans in about forty days.

The Real Madrid coach has high hopes for the return leg between the two teams in La Liga, scheduled for May 11, 2025 (Matchday 35).

Carlo Ancelotti is counting on this El Clasico to get Barça back on track in the title fight the two teams are engaged in.

Indeed, with 10 matches remaining in the league, the Catalan club has a three-point lead over its rival, and that doesn’t seem to worry the Italian.

Since the two teams still have a head-to-head match to play, the former Chelsea manager hopes, at worst, to make up ground in this match.

“Barcelona is top of La Liga? We’ll have El Clasico,” said the Real Madrid manager when asked about Barça’s lead.

For now, even though Barça is top of the table, both teams have their chances of winning the league in their own hands.

In La Liga, if two teams are tied on points, head-to-head matches are taken into account first. Therefore, for Real Madrid to have a better chance of winning the match if they are tied on points after Matchday 38, the Merengue will have to beat Barça in the return leg by at least five goals.
