The hours pass, and Edoardo Bove’s situation now seems more stable. The 22-year-old midfielder suddenly collapsed on the pitch of the Artemio Franchi Stadium after tying his boots.
Fortunately, the initial updates quickly provided reassurance, confirming that he was conscious and breathing normally without assistance. The match between Fiorentina and Inter Milan was permanently halted due to this medical emergency, leaving both teams in shock. Several players, visibly upset, broke into tears, and the game has been postponed to a later date.
On Sunday evening, Fiorentina issued an official statement :
“ACF Fiorentina and the Careggi University Hospital announce that player Edoardo Bove, who received medical attention on the pitch following a loss of consciousness during the Fiorentina vs. Inter match, is currently under medication-induced sedation in the intensive care unit.
The Viola midfielder arrived at the emergency room in a stable hemodynamic condition, and initial cardiological and neurological examinations revealed no acute damage to the central nervous system or the cardio-respiratory system. Further evaluation will be conducted within the next 24 hours,” the statement published on the club’s official website reads.
