Paul Pogba was recently spotted with his family in Los Angeles, notably for a reunion with his former teammate Olivier Giroud at the French national team. Honored this Sunday at the Stade de France, the all-time leading scorer for the French national team discussed the future of the former Manchester United and Turin player in a brief interview with TF1.
“Paul, I think he wants to stay in Europe, honestly, and I think he’s right,” said Olivier Giroud, while Pogba’s recent trip to California suggested that the North American elite was open to him. “I don’t see him going to MLS at the moment,” concluded the Los Angeles FC striker.
Benatia Leaves Pogba Open
A few days earlier, OM legend Chris Waddle deemed the prospect of Marseille ideal for Paul Pogba, and a return to the French league perfectly suited to his talents. This winter, during the transfer window, the Marseille management debated the appropriateness and relevance of such a reinforcement for Roberto De Zerbi’s squad.
“We thought about it, we wanted to do it,” Medhi Benatia, the Olympique de Marseille sporting director, recently told L’Équipe. But OM preferred not to disrupt the team’s balance for the second half of the season without any guarantees regarding Paul Pogba’s fitness. “If there’s anything to be done, we would be delighted to have a player like Paul Pogba to give us a hand next year.
