Things are certainly moving quickly in Francis Ngannou’s life in recent months. Expected in the ring on March 8th against Anthony Joshua, a double champion and icon of English boxing, the Predator is set to fill his pockets much more generously than in his first bout against Tyson Fury.

The world of combat sports has been under Francis Ngannou’s feet for several months. Leaving the UFC to have the freedom to decide what is best for his career, the Cameroonian is currently delivering a masterclass that is likely to revolutionize the industry. Having become a fulfilled man by signing with the PFL (UFC’s rival organization in MMA), the Predator is realizing his dream. Obsessed with English boxing since his early youth, the native of Batié will face a giant of the sport, none other than the Englishman Anthony Joshua (30 fights, 27 wins including 24 KOs and 3 defeats).

Ngannou’s stock market value is skyrocketing

After his successful debut in the noble art on October 28, 2023, against the undefeated champion of his category, Tyson Fury, Francis Ngannou has opened all doors. Despite coming close to the feat due to two judges who “stole” his victory, the former UFC champion remains the great winner of the Battle of Baddest, giving him more weight, more prestige, and therefore a better rating. Speaking of a rising rating in English boxing, Ngannou will take advantage of it against Joshua on March 8th in Saudi Arabia.

Indeed, after pocketing a modest sum of 9 million euros against Fury (about 10 million dollars), a figure confirmed by the Gypsy King, Ngannou intends to leave with a more substantial jackpot against Joshua. By securing the contract for March 8th, his boxing career is truly launched, and consequently, his purse is increasing significantly. Regarding purse matters, the American magazine Forbes, a leading specialist in the financial affairs of global celebrities, has revealed what the Predator’s next salary could look like.

The huge windfall announced for Ngannou

According to the magazine, Francis Ngannou is expected to walk away with a salary of $20 million (over 18 million euros). This colossal sum does not take into account pay-per-view revenues and advertising partnerships. In essence, the Predator could earn even more with revenues related to PPV and other contracts.

The American economic magazine was less detailed in its projections regarding Joshua’s financial gains but confidently asserts that the Briton will receive a higher remuneration than Francis Ngannou in March. According to Forbes still, AJ would have received a sum of $20 million (18.2 million euros) in his last fight on December 23 against the Swede Otto Wallin (26-2-0, 14 KOs), whom he dominated and defeated decisively.

“I just want to make some money and go home”

Regardless, for Francis Ngannou, the 18 million euros advanced by Forbes represent a significant purse for his second fight. If confirmed, it would be twice the amount he earned against Tyson Fury less than three months ago. “I just want some good fights, hit people, avoid getting hit, hit people, and make some money and go home,” the Cameroonian said a few weeks ago at the Glo CAF Awards, which crowned Nigerian footballer Victor Osimhen as the African Ballon d’Or 2023.

Knowing the moving story behind the strongest man in Cameroon who has ultimately triumphed in the world of combat sports, the future looks exceptionally bright. He confirmed this after the announcement of his second boxing match.

What do you think, should Francis Ngannou earn more or less than Joshua?
