Tyson Fury has claimed he was “rubbish” when he fought Francis Ngannou but warned Anthony Joshua it would be “a different game” if they were to meet in a heavyweight showdown.

Joshua secured a second-round knockout victory against former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night and called out Fury after having his hand raised.

Fury had previously defeated Ngannou but only after being pressured by the Cameroonian and being knocked down by the boxing newcomer and is now gearing up for a heavyweight unification bout against Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk has already defeated Joshua twice to become the heavyweight world champion, and while Fury is confident of beating the Ukrainian, he also seems to have an eye on a showdown with Joshua.

The Gypsy King explained that he had delivered a “crap performance” against Ngannou and warned Joshua that he wouldn’t let his standards drop if they were to fight in an all-British heavyweight clash.

Commenting on Joshua’s victory, Fury told DAZN, “I’m sure Oleksandr Usyk will have something to say about that. I had a crap performance against Ngannou. AJ was absolutely fantastic and lit him up with a straight right.”
