Contract-free since stepping down as coach of Senegal’s senior national team in October, Aliou Cissé could soon be moving to Great Britain.

This is what The Scottish Sun reported on Sunday, highlighting the attractive profile of “El Tactico” and the relevance of this new stage in his career.

“The former midfielder, now 48, has ambitions to work in England, where he played for Birmingham and Portsmouth,” writes the media outlet. It also points out that “Cissé’s strong connections with African players and his in-depth knowledge of this market could appeal to certain clubs looking for a new manager.”

A professional renowned for his leadership and mental strength, Aliou Cissé left a lasting impression during his playing days at Birmingham (St Andrew’s) and Portsmouth (Fratton Park). These qualities, which he has also demonstrated during his nine years at the helm of the Lions, have taken Senegal to new heights: the CAN 2021 title, the final in 2019, and a notable appearance in the Round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup.
