Sadio Mané, the Senegalese star, has been increasingly vocal in the media and on social networks recently.
The former Liverpool winger has been on vacation in Senegal since the end of the Saudi Pro League season, using the opportunity to unwind.
The Al Nassr star gave an interview to the Orange platform and surprised many with his comments.
When asked which three players he would choose to form a legendary team, Mané made some unique choices.
There was no Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi among them. Instead, Sadio Mané opted for two former African internationals and a Brazilian star.
Indeed, the ex-Bayern Munich striker chose his football idol, Ronaldinho, after selecting his African choices. El Hadji Diouf, one of the Senegalese players who inspired Mané the most when he was young, was his first pick.
In addition to Ronaldinho and El Hadji Diouf, the former RB Salzburg player went for the ex-Cameroonian Lions defender to complete his trio of legends.
“If I had to pick a team of three legends, I would first choose El-Hadji Diouf, then Ronaldinho, and I would need a defender, so I pick Rigobert Song,” said the Al Nassr player.
The Senegalese star’s choices notably celebrated African legends, especially those who shone in the 2000s.
