Just hours before the delegation’s departure to Canada, the Senegalese Football Federation is facing a major administrative hurdle regarding visa acquisition. Several officials initially set to accompany the national team have not been able to finalize their paperwork on time. Despite procedures initiated in advance from Dakar, a significant portion of the applications has gone unanswered, creating a bottleneck at a critical moment in organizing the trip. This logistical constraint comes as the delegation prepares to head to North America for an important sporting event.
In this context, only a few members of the executive committee have received permission to enter Canadian territory. Among them are Moussa Mbaye, Mouhamed Samb, and Aïcha Henriette Ndiaye. Their presence stands in stark contrast to the rest of the officials, who are still waiting for validation or forced to abandon the trip. This situation results in a reduced official delegation, directly impacting the planned institutional coordination around the national team.

On the side of the Federation president, Abdoulaye Fall, the situation is similar. A few collaborators have obtained their visas, including Abdoulaye Fofana Seck, Joseph Sambou, and Adama Gueye. However, these approvals are limited compared to the initial number of people expected to accompany the delegation. Several members of the administrative and technical staff are thus unable to travel, further reducing the support capacity on the ground.
This last-minute restriction disrupts the overall organization set up around the team. The reduction in the number of officials complicates the distribution of logistical, administrative, and sporting responsibilities abroad.
Some accompanying staff, initially tasked with ensuring the continuity of operations on site, will ultimately have to follow the competition from a distance. This situation necessitates a rapid reorganization of internal tasks to ensure the smooth running of the stay and limit the impact on the team’s preparation.

Meanwhile, the Senegal national team continues its preparation in a focused atmosphere ahead of the upcoming deadline. The delegation is set to fly out Wednesday at 19:00 GMT to reach Toronto, where a match is scheduled for Friday at the same time against Iraq. This encounter holds particular importance in the qualification race, making a positive performance essential. Despite the organizational challenges, the group remains focused on the sporting objective and the need to secure a win to maintain their ambitions in the competition.
