Thierry Henry didn’t hold back after the incident that occurred last night between Vinicius Jr and Gianluca Prestianni. On CBS Sports, his words were fiercely passionate.
Last night on CBS Sports, Thierry Henry delivered a powerful message about the altercation between Gianluca Prestianni and Vinicius Jr. He firmly stood up for the Brazilian:
“We don’t know what Prestianni said, because he had the audacity to cover his mouth with his shirt to make sure no one could hear his words. Naturally, that raises suspicions,” he began.

He continued:
“If you don’t want people to see or hear what you’re saying, there’s a problem. Vinicius’s reaction clearly shows that something is off. We still don’t know what was said. Vinicius can share his side, but Prestianni, I’m sure, will never reveal the truth. I even saw Mbappé confront him, and he simply replied, ‘I didn’t say anything.’ But then why cover your nose and mouth? Are you sick?”
Henry isn’t a huge fan of Real Madrid, but one thing is clear: “Titi” completely identifies with Vinicius:
“I can understand what Vinicius is going through. It happened to me so many times on the pitch. I’ve talked about it after many matches. I was also accused of making excuses when it happened to me. Sometimes, you feel alone because it’s your word against his. I don’t particularly like Real Madrid, but tonight (Tuesday), I’m a Madridista.”
On the set, his colleague Micah Richards was even more outspoken:
“Prestianni is an absolute coward. No one but him and Vinicius knows what really happened, since he covered his mouth with his shirt. And now we’re discussing it: did it really happen or not? His reaction says a lot: Vinicius wouldn’t lie about this.”
Micah Richards and Wesley Sneijder also speak out
Other legends didn’t hesitate to react to the altercation. Wesley Sneijder harshly criticized the Benfica player:
“Prestianni should act like a man and not cover his mouth when saying that to Vinicius. If you want to say it, at least say it openly. It’s a scandal that some still call Black people ‘monkey’!” he denounced on Ziggo Sport.
The Dutchman also confronted the Black teammates of Benfica with reality:
“Oh, and one more thing… Prestianni literally has Black teammates! What are they supposed to think?! I have no doubt: he called Vinicius a ‘monkey.’ I’m 1000% sure. Look at Vinicius’s reaction, of course he said it!”
