Mbappé reveals the name of the best defender he has faced

Kylian Mbappé gave a lengthy interview to the Sorare platform, where he reflected on several key moments in his career, from his beginnings at AS Monaco to his time at Real Madrid, including his years at Paris Saint-Germain and his experience with the French national team.

When asked about the most significant match of his career, the French forward immediately points to a performance in the Champions League while wearing Parisian colors. He recalls his hat-trick at Camp Nou against FC Barcelona: “The day I scored a hat-trick against FC Barcelona with PSG.” This memory, according to him, remains one of the most memorable moments of his rise to the highest level in Europe, both for the context and the intensity of the match.

Regarding his best performance with Real Madrid, the striker highlights another Champions League night, this time at the Santiago Bernabéu. He emphasizes the importance of this knockout match against Manchester City, during which he stood out with a hat-trick: “When I scored a hat-trick against Manchester City. It’s like driving at 100 miles per hour. It was in the Champions League, a knockout match, and I scored a hat-trick at the Bernabéu.”

In another part of the interview, the player discusses his adaptation and feelings since arriving in the Spanish capital. He expresses great satisfaction playing in Madrid’s colors and highlights the prestige of the club. He states: “It’s exactly how I imagined it. For many people, apart from Barça supporters, it’s the greatest club in the world. You fall in love with this club. I think it’s obvious to everyone. It’s the club that represents and symbolizes greatness.”

He continues by stressing the historical and international dimension of Real Madrid, which he sees as a major institution in world football: “Barça has made its mark on football history in its own way, but Real Madrid is the favorite club on a global scale. I am happy and proud to play for this club. I want to make history with Real Madrid because if you make history with the greatest club in the world, then you have your place in football history.”

On a personal level, Mbappé believes he still has many goals to achieve despite his already impressive record. He takes a demanding view of his career and insists on the need to keep progressing: “What am I still missing? That’s a question I ask myself all the time. The easy answer would be to say win all the titles, but some people have done more than just win all the titles. In football, there’s always something to accomplish. If you don’t, someone else will take your place.”

Finally, he was also asked about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He refuses any simplistic comparison between the two legends, highlighting their uniqueness and impact on modern football. He says: “I’ve played with Messi, I’ve played against Cristiano. Cristiano is my idol, but I’ve also played with Leo. Having played with both, I can say they are actually very different. They are not comparable. Their rivalry has been beneficial. If someone tells me Cristiano has no talent or that Messi hasn’t worked hard, it means they’ve never experienced what daily training really represents.”
