The PSG star, Kylian Mbappé, is one of the highest-paid players in the world. In collaboration with his mother, Fayza Lamari, who has been managing his career for a long time, the Bondy-born player has been compelled to give up a significant portion of his salary to help those in need.
The captain of the French national team, Kylian Mbappé, has been a major topic of discussion in France, Europe, and worldwide. As a football star at 25, the PSG player has been making headlines for months due to uncertainty about his future. Amid ongoing rumors and speculation, a documentary about Mbappé’s life has been released, shedding light on how his colossal earnings are spent.
Lamari’s firm stance on Kylian
In the upcoming documentary “Envoyé Special” on Kylian Mbappé, Fayza Lamari reveals how she compelled her son to commit to donating a significant portion of his income to his IBKM foundation (Inspired by Kylian Mbappé). Known to be tough in business matters concerning her son’s future, the Franco-Algerian mother and agent is equally firm with Mbappé. When it came to persuading Kylian to dedicate a portion of his substantial earnings to help those in need, Lamari confessed to using a strong method: the threat.
Involved in the affairs of the PSG star, Fayza Lamari shared her thoughts in statements reported by Le Parisien ahead of the documentary’s release next week. “I told him: Below 30%, I won’t do it! I withdraw, and I’ll do like everyone else: go on vacation to the Maldives, but I won’t work for you! (…) Initially, I had told him we split 50/50. But we discussed it and settled on 30%,” revealed Mbappé’s mother.
“The only thing that pleases me is IBKM”
Known as a demanding mother who takes her children’s education seriously, Fayza Lamari expressed her interest in her son’s money when it comes to using it through his foundation, established in 2020, to assist hundreds of struggling youth. “It represents millions (the demanded 30%). I told Kylian (Mbappé), I’m willing to work 23 hours a day for you. But the only thing I like is IBKM (the foundation),” she continued.
Recently, the young Parisian forward, who helps young people achieve their dreams, artistic projects, and professional aspirations, also spoke about his commitment beyond the stadiums. For the player targeted by Real Madrid, his true happiness lies in his foundation, which fulfills him more than winning a World Cup.
“It’s my greatest pride, both in football and life”
“I was taught to invest beyond the playing field. I have a desire to help, to transmit, to share what I earn with my fame. I’m happy to bring a smile to (sick) children. These are children who unfortunately haven’t been blessed by life. But at no point do they complain or feel sorry for themselves. I think they have much more courage than us. There’s no courage in playing in France or for Paris Saint-Germain. Anyone can do it. Of course, there are difficulties, but there’s no courage,” Kylian Mbappé shared with France TV Sport.
“It’s my greatest pride, both in football and life. It means a lot to me. More than a World Cup, because it gives much more pleasure and changes much more than a World Cup,” he added.
In any case, potential suitors looking to recruit the French star now know what to expect when negotiating financially. Mbappé values his foundation, which absorbs a significant portion of his income, so convincing Fayza Lamari will require a substantial contribution.
