The French striker, Kylian Mbappe, assured in the mixed zone after the match against Toulouse that he has not made a decision, but that he has an agreement with Al Khelaïfi so that the club does not lose out.
After winning his fifth French Super Cup with PSG, Kylian Mbappé spoke to the media in the mixed zone at the Parc des Princes, where he was asked about his future. The French striker announced that he “hasn’t made a decision” and that, moreover, he reached an agreement with Al Khelaïfi in which neither of the parties will be harmed if he finally ends up leaving the Parisian outfit.
“I haven’t made a decision yet. But we have an agreement with the president which means that all parties are protected. My future is not an internal matter. You have to think about the team,” said Mbappé, who mentioned the agreement he reached in the summer with Al Khelaïfi in which he forgave various bonuses so as not to harm PSG if he ends up leaving in the summer without leaving a euro in the club’s coffers.
Afterwards, the France captain assured that he will not drag out his decision, as in 2022, until May, if he is clear about what he has to do. “In 2022, I didn’t know my decision until May. If I knew what I wanted to do, I shouldn’t let the decision drag on. It wouldn’t make any sense. Nobody talks about my situation at the club, nobody is interested,” he added.
The PSG striker was one of the standout performers in the Super Cup against Toulouse, scoring the 2-0 winner with a marvellous move that all but sealed the final. His future, for the moment, as he confirmed in the mixed zone on Wednesday, is in no hurry, while Paris remain optimistic about signing a deal as they did in May 2022.
