PSG: Real Madrid’s clear answer on Kylian Mbappé

Since 1 January, Kylian Mbappé has been able to negotiate with the club of his choice. Having still not extended his contract with PSG, the Bondynois is still rumoured to be at Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti, coach of the White House, has just broken his silence.

Free at the end of the current season, Kylian Mbappé has been able to negotiate directly with Real Madrid since 1 January 2024. This situation is of particular concern to fans of the club from the French capital, who would still like to count on the 2018 world champion.

Indeed, since yesterday, the Mbappé soap opera has gone viral again, with rumours sending the Les Bleus captain to Real Madrid at the end of the season. Florentino Perez, who has reportedly still not given up on Mbappé, would not hesitate to push for the signature of the player considered by many to be the best footballer in the world at the moment. Above all, however, Real Madrid would like to keep a low profile in order to avoid any unpleasant surprises, as was the case in the summer of 2021, when Mbappé, once rumoured to be heading to the Bernabeu, ended up signing for PSG, much to the dismay of Madrid fans.

Carlo Ancelotti’s clear answer on Mbappé

Even in Spain, Kylian Mbappé is in the news. Real Madrid are preparing for Wednesday’s meeting with Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabéu with the return of players like Arda Güler.

On the eve of the match, Carlo Ancelotti appeared at a press conference. Naturally, the Transalpine coach, who had just extended his contract with Real Madrid, did not escape questions about Kylian Mbappé. Naturally, the man who answers all questions with a smile on his face preferred to skip the one about the future of PSG’s all-time top scorer. “If this is going to be Mbappé’s year in Madrid? I’m not going to talk about that,” said Carlo Ancelotti.

Like Ancelotti, Luis Enrique also trivialises the question

PSG are also back in action tomorrow after the short break. The Parisians host Toulouse FC in the Champions Trophy match, and Luis Enrique appeared before the press on Tuesday.

The journalists bombarded him with questions about Kylian Mbappé’s future. This will come after the No7 refused to extend his contract and has been able to negotiate with Real Madrid since January 1. Luis Enrique took his cue from Carlo Ancelotti and refused to answer, claiming that the question was none of his business. But he will continue to count on Kylian Mbappé.

“How am I going to manage him? As I have always done up until now (…) It’s not a matter for me, I’m not the person who has to answer that question,” said PSG coach Luis Enrique.

In any case, Kylian Mbappé is used to being the talk of the town, especially during the mercatos. Last summer, he sent a letter to PSG notifying them of his decision not to exercise the one-year option on his contract, and it went round the world. What followed was a soap opera that lasted throughout the summer mercato. Nasser al-Khelaïfi and his management initially kept the Bondyn man out of the pre-season squad before reinstating him after the first official match of the season. At the same time, a Real Madrid fan approached Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez in the streets of the Spanish capital. He asked him if he would end up signing the French international? The Madrid boss replied: “Yes, but in the summer of 2024”. For the time being, Florentino Perez’s predictions are still valid, as the player has not extended his contract and has been eligible to sign since 1 January.
