With just a few days to go before the meeting of the Executive Committee of the African Football Confederation (CAF) scheduled for Friday in Dar es Salaam, tensions are already rising.
According to Winwin, several committee members are considering not traveling to Tanzania. The reason? Some invited officials have yet to receive the detailed agenda for this crucial meeting for the future of African football. This organizational confusion might explain some of the reported discomfort behind the scenes.

In any governance body, preparing meetings and communicating agenda items are sensitive matters, especially when major issues are already shaking the institution. The same source claims this silence is linked to internal considerations and a desire to limit potential leaks.
“Electric” atmosphere within CAF
These speculations come as several observers, including journalist Ablam Gnamesso, have been talking about an “electric” atmosphere within CAF for weeks. Since the last Comex meeting in Rabat, an altercation—later denied—reportedly took place between Moroccan Football Federation president Fouzi Lekjaa and his Nigerian counterpart Ibrahim Musa Gusau. Without jumping to conclusions about a potential boycott, these signals indicate at least strong tensions during a particularly delicate time for the continental body.
On Friday, CAF will have to address burning issues, including the reform of regulations after Senegal’s withdrawal from the AFCON final, as well as the status of Secretary General Véron Mosengo-Omba, who has surpassed the age limit for his role. In this context, the potential absence of several influential members, if confirmed, could raise questions about the internal cohesion of the organization.
