The Unexpected Revelations from Victor Osimhen in Naples!

Former SSC Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has decided to break his silence a year after his permanent departure from Italy. Now a player for Galatasaray, the Nigerian international reflected on the tense circumstances surrounding his exit from Campania, while confirming Juventus FC’s concrete interest.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 27-year-old striker revealed that Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli contacted him during the summer of 2024, even before discussions with Galatasaray began.

Osimhen explained that he spoke with several members of Juventus, confirming the club’s interest. However, he was convinced that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis would not make it easy for him to join a direct rival. “When Juventus calls, you sit down and listen,” he said, emphasizing that the possibility was real.

The striker also wanted to clarify his relationship with Antonio Conte. Contrary to some rumors claiming the coach did not count on him, Osimhen assured that Conte wanted to keep him. Upon his arrival, the Italian manager reportedly called him to express his desire to work with him despite the situation. But the player had already made his decision: he no longer wanted to play in an environment where he didn’t feel fulfilled.

The break with Napoli dates back to the controversy over TikTok videos posted in September 2023. Osimhen feels he was unfairly targeted, denouncing racist insinuations after missing a penalty. He claims this incident marked a point of no return. According to him, no public apology was made, despite several private calls from the president. At the same time, he says he was the target of unfounded rumors about his professional behavior.

Although he extended his contract in December 2023 with the Neapolitan club, a moral agreement was in place for a departure the following summer. Osimhen believes this commitment was not honored. He laments being treated without consideration, refusing to be “a puppet” in managing his future.

Now tied to Galatasaray until 2029, the striker is valued at 75 million euros. In Turkey, he is set to earn an annual salary of 18.75 million euros. This season, he has played 22 matches across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 3 assists.
