Months later, the question of a permanent transfer remains up in the air. The Blaugranas do have a purchase option set at 30 million euros, but they are still hesitant to activate it. This amount is a significant investment for a club facing ongoing financial difficulties, especially since the management doesn’t seem fully convinced by the player’s sporting contribution.
Marcus Rashford has faced criticism for his lack of involvement in defensive duties, a point that doesn’t fully align with Hansi Flick’s requirements. However, the German coach acknowledges his offensive qualities and potential for growth.
According to Football365, Barça has found an alternative to finalize the deal without paying a transfer fee. Deco is considering including two players from the squad in discussions with Manchester United.
The first option would be to offer Ronald Araujo. The Uruguayan center-back, valued at around 40 million euros, is no longer a top priority for the coach and could serve as a bargaining chip.
Another possibility is to include Marc Casado in the negotiations. The young midfielder could also be part of an exchange.
